Who pays for vanpool participants to commute in a vanpool?

Some employers sponsor vanpool programs and choose to cover the entire cost as an employee benefit. Others choose to pass some or all the cost to their employees. There are a variety of straightforward ways we can set up payments for participants, including up to $315/ month in pre-tax payroll deduction.

In some U.S. markets vanpooling programs are also eligible to receive local transit subsidies to help cover vanpool costs.
